Treeline Builders
  • Does Treeline Builders build barndominiums?

Yes, our experienced team has the expertise to construct the barndominium you've been envisioning.
  • What are the different types of barndominiums?

Barndominiums typically come in two main varieties: steel frame and post frame.

    - In the South, Southeast, or Western regions of the US, barndominiums are generally steel-framed structures (using red iron or galvanized materials) with metal siding and roofing.
    - In the upper Midwest or upper East Coast, barndominiums are usually post-frame or engineered wood-truss systems with metal siding and roofing.

We can accommodate various siding options on your barndominium, including virtually any siding material, provided we incorporate the appropriate design modifications for your chosen material.

  • What is a barndominium?

A barndominium features a clear span building design, meaning the roof's weight is supported by the structure's perimeter, which typically eliminates the need for interior columns. This design removes the requirement for load-bearing interior walls in single-story builds and creates expansive open spaces. From a practical standpoint, this allows you to position or modify your first-floor walls in various configurations, as long as column placement and pre-plumbing remain unaffected.

For two-story barndominiums, at least one load-bearing wall is required to support the second floor's weight.
